What We Do

Purse Seine Vessel Management

Our staff and crew manage 14 purse seine fishing vessels, which operate in the waters of the Western Pacific. The International Seafood Sustainability Foundation estimates that purse seine vessels catch nearly 62 percent of the 4.2 million tons of tuna caught globally every year.

Government Relations

Members of our management team have a long-standing history of proactive industry advocacy and collaboration with U.S. and International government agencies. SPTC working relationships include the Pacific Island Forum Fisheries Agency, U.S. Department of Homeland Security, U.S. Coast Guard, National Marine Fisheries Service, U.S. Department of Transportation, U.S. Department of Commerce,  National Oceanic and Atmospheric Association, and the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency.
